Total Energy Management  (A Program For Industry)

The common critical resource of all industries is energy - whether it be oil, gas, or electricity. Increased efficiencies in energy use are the quickest and most economical method for reducing costs and increasing profitability.

Total Energy Management (TEM) is more than just a new name for energy conservation. TEM is an integrated approach developed over the last decade which studies have shown can save much more than the traditional "energy survey" approach. Where the one-time energy survey can reduce energy costs 8-10% through implementation of no cost/low cost measures and another 10-12% through capital improvements, on-going Total Energy Management programs have been shown to save as much as 25-30%.

TEM benefits industry by:

  • reducing operating costs

  • increasing profitability

  • minimizing the impact of load shedding

  • increasing the potential for continuous market growth

  • providing justification for plant modernization

  Corporate Capability

The TEM approach is a new concept in the local industrial environment. MEConsult, during the course of the ENERCON Program, have pioneered its application in Pakistan with integrated packages delivered to a broad spectrum of the industry including textile, jute, sugar, glass, foundry, ghee, and rubber units. Savings potential identified following implementation of low cost/no cost and capital intensive measures have accounted for 10 to 15 per cent of total energy costs.
